Terms of service

Last updated 2026-10-03

1 · Agreement

By using axioms.gg, app.axioms.gg, or the Contraverse desktop client, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2 · The service

Contraverse captures each debate speaker on isolated audio, transcribes it, and uses AI to track claims, evidence and their states on a public board where viewers can vote to trigger AI fact checks. Watching any board is free. A paid plan (§9) buys an allowance on it: comments, hours of debate on the air, the Chrome extension. We may rate-limit any part of it to keep it available for everyone.

3 · Eligibility

You must be at least 16 to use Contraverse. By using it you confirm you meet this requirement.

4 · Accounts

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Give truthful registration details. Tell us about any unauthorised access. If you speak in a debate, the private join link mailed to you is your credential, don't forward it.

5 · Acceptable use

Don't use Contraverse to publish or process content that is illegal, that exploits minors, that infringes others' rights, or that promotes violence or harassment. Don't scrape beyond normal browser use, probe or bypass rate limits or security measures, reverse engineer the service, or impersonate another person's handle. We may suspend accounts, block access, and remove content that violates this section.

If you comment, suggest a question, vote, or report on a board, additional rules apply. Don't post abuse, spam, or a person's private information; don't attempt to manipulate the AI systems that moderate, fact-check or rate contributions, including by prompt injection; and don't file reports you know to be false. Reporting is a tool for flagging genuine harm, and abusing it is itself a violation. Enforcement of this paragraph is described in section 6b.

6 · Your content

Speakers own their words. By speaking in a debate run through Contraverse you grant us a non-exclusive licence to capture, transcribe, analyse, display and retain that audio-derived content as the debate's public record, and to send it to the AI providers named in the privacy policy for exactly that purpose. We do not use your content to train AI models. Organisers warrant that every speaker they invite knows the debate runs through Contraverse.

Your stream. If you link a stream to a debate, you let us show that stream's player and its current preview image with the debate. We never store the image. We fetch it from the platform when someone looks, and a cache holds it for two minutes at most.

Viewer contributions. Comments and suggested questions you write are yours; by posting them you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display, retain and distribute them as part of a board's public record, and to send them to the AI systems that decide whether they may appear. A suggested question that our AI rephrases before publishing is shown labelled as AI-adjusted, with your original kept. Nothing you write appears publicly until an automated check has passed it; a check that fails leaves it visible only to you. Votes and reports you cast are recorded. You are responsible for what you post, and you warrant you have the right to post it.

6b · Moderation, rating and enforcement

Contributions on public boards are moderated by automated systems and may be removed by the board's owner. We operate a rating that reflects the quality of your contributions, and standing can go down as well as up: a contribution rejected for abuse, or a report found to be false, lowers it.

Where we detect abuse, manipulation of our systems, or false reporting, we may — at our sole discretion and without prior notice — warn, temporarily restrict, or permanently ban an account, and we are not obliged to explain, confirm, or disclose the existence or reason of any such measure. We may record a hashed, non-reversible form of a network address as an abuse signal, as described in the privacy policy. Nothing in this section creates an obligation on us to moderate, to moderate consistently, or to preserve any contribution.

Verification. An account may apply for a verified tag that states a profession or expertise. By applying you confirm that everything in the application is accurate and describes the person holding the account. Verification is not guaranteed, is decided at our sole discretion, and may be withdrawn at any time. A declined application cannot be resubmitted for the waiting period shown when you apply. Providing false or misleading information in an application results in immediate permanent suspension of the account.

7 · AI output

Transcripts, claim states and fact checks are produced by probabilistic AI and publish automatically, labelled “AI-generated · unverified”. Nobody reviews them first. They can be wrong, mishearing a word, misattributing a claim, mislabelling a state, or fact-checking against imperfect sources. Verify before you rely on or republish any of it. Contraverse is an analysis tool, not a source of factual truth, and AI output is not a statement by us about any person.

8 · Third-party services

Debate content is processed by the providers named in the privacy policy (transcription, language models, hosting, email, and, with your consent, product analytics). Their terms also apply to that processing.

Those providers act as our processors: they handle the data on our instructions, for the purposes described in the privacy policy, and for nothing else. We hold data-processing terms with each of them, and we do not permit any of them to use debate content to train their models.

8a · If you are an organisation

If you run debates on behalf of an organisation and that organisation, not Contraverse, decides whose voices are recorded and why, then for that content you are the controller and we act as your processor. Email support@axioms.gg and we will put a data processing agreement in place before your first debate. Do not run such a debate until it is signed.

9 · Plans and payment

Viewer accounts have a free plan. A streamer account can be set up for free and needs a paid plan to go live. Paid plans are monthly subscriptions billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, at the price shown when you buy. They renew automatically each month until you cancel. Cancel any time from Plan & Billing; the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for and then stops, and there are no refunds for the part of a period you did not use, except where the law requires one. The Refund Policy says the same in one place. Switching to a higher plan mid-period is charged pro rata for the remainder.

A plan's allowances (comments a day, hours of debate a month, the Chrome extension) are stated on Plan & Billing and enforced by the service. On a plan that stops at its hours, a live debate ends when the month's hours are used. On a plan with an overage rate, the hours past the cap are added to your next invoice at the rate shown when you bought the plan. Hours are the debate clock, breaks excluded, and are shown to you live. If a payment fails we retry it and email you; if it keeps failing the plan is cancelled and the account continues without one: a viewer on the free plan, a streamer able to set up but not to go live.

We may change prices with at least thirty days' notice by email; the new price applies from your next renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before it does. Prices exclude any tax we are required to add.

9a · No SLA

Contraverse is provided as-is, on a best-effort basis, on every plan. We don't guarantee uptime, feature availability, transcription accuracy, or that the service will continue in its current form, and we may change or discontinue features without notice. If we discontinue a paid feature you rely on, we refund the unused part of your current period.

10 · Intellectual property

The Contraverse name, mark, site, design and code are ours. Speakers' words and the debates themselves are not, see §6.

11 · Termination

You can stop using Contraverse at any time and ask us to delete your account. Deleting your account cancels any paid plan at the end of its current period. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate §5; a terminated paid plan is not refunded. Sections 6–15 survive termination.

12 · Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. CONTRAVERSE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE.

13 · Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, and our total liability for any claim is capped at USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; there, our liability is limited to the maximum extent the law permits.

14 · Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your use of AI output, or your violation of these terms or of others' rights.

15 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR JURISDICTION], and disputes will be brought exclusively in its courts.

16 · Changes

We may update these terms; material changes are posted here with a new date. Continuing to use Contraverse after changes are posted is acceptance.

17 · Contact

support@axioms.gg, including copyright complaints, which should identify the work and the material precisely enough for us to act.
